With winter hitting all over and lasting, why not take advantage of all of this snow!? Of course, while my daughter was eating the snow by the handful, I was trying to convince myself that it wasn’t below freezing in order to take one bite of it before we brought the bowl in to make snow ice cream. My only rule with my daughter was that she needed to make sure the spot looked clean, scrape away the top few centimeters of snow, and not dig all the way to the ground.

The original recipe that I found called for 1⁄2 cup of milk, but I found that it was lacking on the ice CREAM sensation. Instead, I did 1⁄4 cup milk and 1⁄4 cup of cream and that made a big difference.
Snow Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 3 cups snow
- 1⁄2 cup milk OR 1⁄4 cup milk and 1⁄4 cup cream
- 2 T – 1⁄4 cup sugar, depending on sweetness preference
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- toppings of choice
Directions:
Mix together the milk (or milk and cream), vanilla, and sugar. Add 1 cup of the snow and mix. It will look like a slurry at this stage.

Add the remaining 2 cups of snow and mix. That’s it, now you’ve got your snow ice cream!

Add your desired toppings and dig in!
