I keep coming back to call outs from Chicken Soup for the Soul…  Mainly because they are always on the lookout for stories for their next books.  They publish multiple books a year, that is what makes them such a great opportunity for writers.

And, now, they are on the lookout for stories about counting your blessings!

What are some silver linings in tough times?  How do you show that you are grateful for the little blessings in your life?  How has helping someone else turned around to be a blessing for you?  What are some simple pleasures that you enjoy?  How do you turn negative moments into positive?  How have you learned to be grateful for what you have?

What are some ways that you count your blessings?  Write it down!

I will add that, whether funny or serious, they are wanting these stories to be inspirational and heartwarming.

The due date for stories about miracles and messages from Heaven and angels is March 31, 2026.  (AHHHH!  I can’t believe it’s almost 2026!!!!)

A few guidelines:

  1. It must be nonfiction
  2. It needs to be written in the first person
  3. It needs to be 1,200 words or less

The best part:  You don’t need to make a query/cover letter.  They don’t ask for one, just title, your information, and the story!  AWESOME!

If accepted, you should hear back anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.

Now, go forth and write!
