Well, it snowed!
That is supposed to be our road. Overall, we got close to sixteen inches. 16! The question, then, becomes: What is the best way to bring hay to the animals? My husband has his method that works in deep snow, which I will talk about in a later post. But, I’ve usually just carried the hay flakes as needed out to the goats.
While carrying a few flakes is no biggie, I wanted to give the goats some extra bedding in preparation for the cold weather coming… And I might have forgotten to do it the evening before.
So, again, what is the best way to bring a full bale of hay to the animals?
Simply carrying it by hand? Asking my husband to carry it?
OR
Using my daughter’s sled to do the heavy work for me?
Honestly, my daughter weighs slightly more than a hay bale and I can get up to a sprint while pulling her to enjoy a fun ride. Why not a hay bale?
While the idea sounds great, there did seem to be a problem with it constantly tipping over.
A seriously bad, constant problem
Official decision: Using my daughter’s plastic sled did not work at all. Maybe other versions besides this small, plastic one will work, but definitely not this kind.
Don’t worry, though, the goats got their hay bale…
I asked my husband to carry the bale for me.
